Malus floribunda is planted for its massed display of pink white spring blossom. But this ornamental crab grows to become a handsome tree in its own right, so dare to think beyond the blossom, which is sadly short lived. Much planted as a reliably tough street tree it is equally suited to garden planting.

Cultivation tips: This is a slightly taller growing flowering crab which will flourish in any reasonably fertile well drained soil in full sun or light shade. This crab will tolerate a cold spot but avoid planting in very exposed locations. Prune to shape during the winter months but avoid excessive pruning. Grows to a maximum height of around 10 metres.
