Anchusa produces tall spires of dark blue flowers in mid - late summer, being planted in middle of mixed / herbaceous borders. For rockeries plant the dwarf alternative A. cespitosa. Growing to 1m tall X 40cm wide.
Cultivation tips:
This short lived perennial prefers being planted in full sun, flourishing in any well drained yet moist soil. This plant is fast growing and may require staking. Divide and replant every three years.
