Cultivation tips: This attractive fast growing grass will grow on most well drained soils, as long as they are not to fertile or moist. It is drought hardy, tolerating hot dry exposed areas, and hating wet soils or shade. Trim flower heads and dead material in winter / spring. Tolerates chalky and sandy soils. Plant in clumps and drifts to break up herbaceous planting and add late summer interest.
