Judas tree will grow in any moist yet well drained soil in full or part sun, however Cercis will tolerate a drier soil or even clays. Avoid very exposed planting locations as Cercis can catch winter frosts, always preferring a sheltered warm planting location. Remove frost damage and prune to shape at winters end and mulch every few years to feed.
