Caltha is a native herbaceous flower, being a member of the buttercup family. It produces large impressive buttercup like blossoms in spring alongside side lush dark green foliage. Ideal for planting along ditch or ponds to soften edge - often being planted in naturalistic bog gardens along with other moisture loving plants.
Cultivation tips:
Caltha flourishes in permanently water logged or wet soils - so can be planted in wet ditches, or the margins of ponds or within boggy areas. However it will not flourish in soils that switch between being water logged and dry as they require permanent moist soils. Marsh Marigold prefers a spot in full to part sun.
