Thyme is well suited to growing in small pots within the most limited outside space.
The variety Doone Valley is a lower growing mat forming / creeping variety which works well in a rockery or herb garden. Doone Valley has tiny green foliage with gold tipped foliage and has a lemony scent. Foliage can cut and can be used in cooking.
Cultivation tips: This compact ground hugging herb requires a dry sunny spot ideally ammongst gravel or paving where it can spread out and avoid smouthering. Thyme will flourish in any well drained soil whether chalky or sandy and can tolerate a dry hot position within the garden.
