Cultivation tips: Ideally planted in bulb form in autumn (ideally between October and December) tulips will provide a quick splash of spring after planting. Tulips compliment spring bedding as well as low growing perennials, being well suited to planting in containers or in open ground towards the front of the bed, where there flowers can be best appreciated. Tulips will continue to flower over a number of years, however the abundance and size of blooms will tend to deminish over the years. Tulips prefer to be planted in a sunny spot in good quality loamy garden soil. After flowering a granular fertilizer feed will help bulbs regenerate for the following year, as will leaving leaves in place until they die back naturally in early summer.
