Cultivation tips: Alliums prefer well drained soils in full sun, coping well with poorer soils. Plant as bulbs in autumn in among herbaceous plants and grasses. Mulch annually in cold areas. Divide and replant older clumps in late summer. Well suited to planting in pots or tubs where it can be treated as an annual bulb and then plant out in the border.
