This large herbaceous perennial is grown for its impressive deep red summer foliage and spikes of yellow blossom. Ligularia is ideally suited to bog garden and pond side planting. Ideally plant in drifts alongside other large moisture loving herbaceous plants.
Cultivation tips:
Ligularia flourishes in a sheltered spot on permanently moist soil in part sun,either in full or part sun. Requiring a fertile soil and plenty of summer moisture Ligularia should be mulched every year with well rotted organic matter. Tall flowers will require staking and during dry spells regular water will be required. Propagate by division.
