Cultivation tips: Sarcocca flourishes on most free draining but moisture retentive fertile soils, including chalky and clay soils. This evergreen prefers a sheltered spot in part shade, being well suited to informal woodland planting, where it can planted in numbers forming an attractive medium height evergreen ground cover, if you are prepared to wait - as Sarcocca is a slow grower. Water occasionally if very dry - mulch around estabkished plants occasionally to feed on poor soils. 2m tall X 1m spread - which extends with suckering.
